How to go about submitting a patch

I didn't see a mailing list, and I am somewhat uncomfortable on forum software, so I tried submitting a patch through SourceForge: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=797448&aid=3065670&group_id=155855 I just wanted to also cross post here, in case it was more appropriate.
