How do I add a capo when using tuxguitar to edit tablature? Do I just need to convert everything to the fingerings if it did not use a capo or is there an option somewhere?

there is no capo support,
but there is another option, go to "Track -> Properties" menu.. in tunning seccion there is an option called "offset"..
maybe its what you are looking for..
