I am fairly new to Ubuntu. I had tuxguitar running good on my computer, but now I'm installing it on my friend's, and there is no sound output. I have verified I am getting sound from other programs, just not tuxguitar.
I read on another forum to install timidity. I did so successfully, but I am not seeing a MIDI output option in the tuxguitar settings. Here is my output when I type
$ aconnect -o

client 14: 'Midi Through' [type=kernel]
0 'Midi Through Port-0'
client 20: 'Ensoniq AudioPCI' [type=kernel]
0 'ES1371 '
client 128: 'TiMidity' [type=user]
0 'TiMidity port 0 '
1 'TiMidity port 1 '
2 'TiMidity port 2 '
3 'TiMidity port 3 '
client 129: 'TiMidity' [type=user]
0 'TiMidity port 0 '
1 'TiMidity port 1 '
2 'TiMidity port 2 '
3 'TiMidity port 3 '

I don't know what more you need to see. Please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you wouldn't mind--could you post your solution? That way this thread may prove useful for others in the future.
