Subject How to disable notes preview?   Post Reply Post New Topic

First of all, sorry for my English.

And here is my question:

When I write a song, each note I put is being played.
It is OK when I edit a track.
But when I write kind of "fast'n'heavy" thing it turns out that sometimes I have to put near 7 (or 15) similar notes in a row. I put '2' on the 6th string, then another '2' and so on, ...five, six, seven and then (at last!) '4' on the 5th stirng. And each of those '2' is being played. It is rather annoying and takes a lot of time to listen to all those '2'.

Is there any way to disable the note preview in Tuxguitar?

Hi InnoSanctum,

There doesn't appear to be away to switch off the sound when you enter notes. I don't particularly mind as I view it as ear training. However, you can achieve what you want simply by muting the volume on your operating system.

Thank you for your reply.

I would not mind it as well however it takes some time (about a half of a second) to play the note preview for each note.

Well, looks like I have to keep living with this :)

Not necessarily! :)

There appears to be some development working currently been undertaken on TuxGuitar. If you would like this feature then post your request to the "New features, or why you don't use TG" thread on the Open Discussion forum.

Btw: the perceived delay appears to psychological; when I muted the os volume I was not conscious of any delay!
