 Ubuntu 10.04 Tuxguitar installaion

Has anyone successfully installed Tuxguitar 1.2 on this distro and got it to fully work with all the coloured blocks of the instruments displayed?
What and how did you install it please?
I have tried from the repos and from the .deb on this site and a ppa, all result in incorrect display of the instrument blocks.
Searching this forum it appears it is a java error but I am at a loss as how to install a working version.
Any helpmuch appreciated.

With Ubuntu10.04, I got it from the software center, it works well

Feihei - exactly what did you get from the software center? Tux 1.2 or the fix to make it work in Ubuntu?
