when tuxguitar package for ubuntu is downloaded I opened it and there was nothing inside. there were only the words: "error: wrong architecture 'i386' what can I do? I am new of linux so I can't use it very well at the moment...PLEASE HELP ME!

That's because tuxguitar release for ubuntu, was builded for i386 architecture...
do you have a 64bit PC ?
try download the 64 bit version of tuxguitar:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tuxguitar/TuxGuitar-0.9.1-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz?download
you also will need install Java dependencies:
sudo apt-get install sun-java5-jre
sudo update-alternatives --config java
# Select this:
# /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/bin/java
Then, to install tuxguitar. just uncompress the downloaded file: "TuxGuitar-0.9.1-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz" and go where you uncompresed it and make 2 click to "tuxguitar" file.
