1_ you need have installed "ant" to build the sources:

2_ you need download SWT libs and IText :

3_ now at the sourcefiles you will see:
build.xml
build.properties
build-[OS].xml
well i think iBookG4 is a mac?
so.. edit build.properties.. you will see some configs.
uncomment the Default Mac lines.. and comment the others..
check all paths are allwrite..

(if you are using TuxGuitar.jar of CVS version, you need tuxguitar-alsa from CVS to)
because i see the error at "DefinedControllers" class.. and this class was renamed to MidiControllers in CVS version.

well, you need make a folder "plugins" at tuxguitar share folder (at the same level you see "lang" and "files" folder )
and in this new fodler "plugins" you must paste a file called "plugin_tuxguitar-alsa.properties"
the properties file must have this vars:
# where is the TuxGuitar-alsa.jar
plugin.path=./lib/TuxGuitar-alsa.jar
# the class who implements the plugin interface
# don't modify this
plugin.class=plugin.TGPluginImpl
then you need paste the native library "libReceiverJNI.so" at the tuxguitar library path... (the same folder where are *.so of swt)...
or if you want put libReceiverJNI.so in other folder, you need set this path on the tuxguitar launcher script..at the -Djava.library.path option.

if you don't have any device.. maybe alsa don't have loaded the snd_seq module..
try do this:
modprobe snd_seq (as root)
then i think you should see a port 14:0 or 62:0 (but if you don't have a midi card that port don't works.. so you can try with "timidity" or something like)
i modprobed snd_sep but nothing happens... any ideas? In any way , i have a midi card... if i have all audio applications turned off i can use tuxguitar without problems... i need the alsa plugin for work with alsa dmix...
