How do I install this program and get it to run on XP? Which components do I need to download?

Hi,
you need have installed Java 1.5 or later:
here: http://www.java.com
if the JRE you downloaded doesn't have a soundbank file(not available in default download), you need download one:
http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/sound/soundbanks.html
and follow the install instructions..
then you can download and install the Windows installer file:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tuxguitar/tuxguitar-0.8-windows-installer.exe?download

there is not one way to install it.. it depends on your OS.
