Save for the "fade in" option tux guitar doesn't feature dynamic changes for a single note such as crescendos and diminuendos. I don't know what midi standard tuxguitar uses, but I'd imagine it has some reflection on that. One possible way to add a crescendo would be to tie a number of shorter notes together and use the "terraced" dynamics tux guitar supports on each so that the note sounds progressively louder. The terraced dynamics, that extend from ppp to fff is memeory serves, are found at the bottom right of the toolbar at the top of the window.

Add many 18th or 16th notes, link them all together, and then change their volumes (pp, p mp, mf, f, ff)
