Hey i was wondering, after you download a powertab from the websites, for guitar, how do you check what tuning it is supposed to be in, such as standard, drop d, drop c, etc

Go from menu "Track -> Properties" or make 2 click on the track at the bottom table.

These are the string tunings..
"C - D - E - F - G - A - B" are the notes.
the numers at the right, are the octaves.

Usually a guitar is tuned as "E A D G B E"
but you can have a different tuning..
so this numbers are for change it.

Maybe this online tuner can help to understand:

Joe,
are you talking about the "track properties" ( where you change the tunning ) window ?
If yes, the numbers are "octaves"

C0 , C1, C2, C3, etc.. all are C, but each one have a different octave.

Standard MIDI supports about 10 octaves
