on my tuxguitar it won't show any of the strings, like the lines. its just got a white background. how do i fix this?

hmmm... what OS, and monitor do you have ??

Try change the color from tuxguitar..
go to menu: Tools -> Settings

And see on "Styles" category.
there is a button "Horizontal Lines Color"
set them to black.. or any other dark color.
