In tuxguitar.ini file change the following line:
Virtual Machine Parameters=-Xmx50:128:1200P
to
Virtual Machine Parameters=-Xmx50
It should help.

My "tuxguitar.ini" file is in the "C:Program FilesTuxGuitar" folder.
I had to comment out the Virtual Machine Parameters line in order to make it work. Just put a ";" in front of that line, like:
;Virtual Machine Parameters=-Xmx50:128:1200P

Putting ";" in front of that line in that file neither deleting that part gives no effect. Any more ideas how to fix this? I have newest version of java and tux.

I can't seem to start Tux guitar from its shortcut, but I can start it from the bat file
I changed the Virtual Machine Parameters=-Xmx50:128:1200P
to
Virtual Machine Parameters=-Xmx50
but that didn't work I still get
JNI exception: failed to create the Java VM Reason: not enough memory
I have reinstalled both java and tux guitar but still doesnt work, though I can get tux to work on my other computer and old laptop
Can you help ?

I had the same trouble using Windows XP Professional SP3 + Java 1.6.0.21 + 2GB of RAM. And to me worked the solution:
"Cut out whole line: Virtual Machine Parameters=-Xmx50:128:1200P".

Tive o mesmo problema aqui relatado. Uso Windows XP Professional SP3 + Java 1.6.0.21 + 2GB de RAM. E a solução que funcionou para mim foi:
Apague to a linha "Virtual Machine Parameters=-Xmx50:128:1200P".

cheers

Hey guys, great work. After starting tuxguitar and moving the mouse only one second I got an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005). So I tried to cut this line out. And ... just worked for me too.

Just put ";" before Virtual Machine Parameters make work, again.
P.S.: The program was working perfectly, so happen the error; I cut the parameters after 50, and they rides, again... And now, after double-click the icon, nothing was happening, until I do the tip of megane13.
Thanks
