track listing is not complete on linux

I'm having this strange problem in linux (Ubuntu, all versions from 9,04 up to 10,10 32 or 64bit): the track listing is incomplete, it only shows the first 7 and a half measures of the the first instrument and all other are white space.

I'm correcting my own entry ! : if you try tuxguitar by downloading the the java web start version from the site it works just fine! on the exact same system! something is wrong with java in ubuntu/debian ?
