how to write rythm guitar tabs

hello there I have donloaded tux guitar.frst i have to say its a very great gift for the open source world. I have now worked a bit with the basic functions and it looks pretty easy but I dont know how to add a 2nd guitar which only plays accord in the right rythm...my english not very good but we call this rythm guitar but I cant write those up or downstrokes...please help thx anyway
