Hello,
For some reason i can't open some guitar pro5 files in tux guitar. I'm not sure why it opens some and not others, but when it's being disagreeable it brings a an error message that simpy says it cannot open the file and quotes the file destination.
Any ideas what the problem is?

Hi,
Maybe the problem is the GP5 version. ( note there are differet versions like v5.00, v5.20.. )
if it's the cause, you will see an "UnsupportedFormatException" message if you run tuxguitar under a terminal.
note, tuxguitar 0.9.1 can open gp5 files, only for:
"FICHIER GUITAR PRO v5.00" header version.
"FICHIER GUITAR PRO v5.10" support, was added on CVS version. so you will see that changes on next release. (or building CVS version)

Hello,
Thanks for responding. Yeah, some of the files are 5, and other a 5.10 etc. So i guess i'll have o wait until the next version to run them.

What version of tuxguitar are you using..

i have tuxguitar 1.0, and i can open gp5 and some gp3 files, but some gp3 files won't open and say error, cannot open: file blah blah blah.gp3. how can i fix this?

Try installing latest 1.2 version, since a lot of 1.0 bugs was fixed.

alright i installed that, but im still having the same problem. im trying to open up this file but it always says error cannot open. :( It's the guitar pro version of "the holy tape" by the fall of troy on ultimate-guitar. i believe there's only one version... thanks for the help!
