Hi,

It seems there's new *.gp5 files, that are only compatible with Guitar-Pro 5.1 (or 5.2...).

test yourself :

Hi adam, first.. Thanks for your donation!

tuxguitar 0.9 can only open "FICHIER GUITAR PRO v5.00" files..
but that file: "FICHIER GUITAR PRO v5.10"
is already supported on CVS version.

bye

okay ! cool !

I forgot Guitar-Pro was french...

I considered to make a donation, cause now that I finished studies and working, I am earning money. Thus, I asked Arobas'team if they have plans for a Guitar-Pro on Linux and they said "absolutely not"... so... :)

By the way, when will be released TuxGuitar 1.0 ? Can't wait !!! :) :)

P.S : Is ersplus still wondering about french translation ??

i can't give you an exactly date, because it allways depends on free time.
however 1.0RC1 will be released before 1.0

>P.S : Is ersplus still wondering about french translation ??
Ersplus tell me he can't work on the project for some time.. but i'm not sure about how much time..
but don't worry... next version will be not released without french ( or other supported translation in 0.9)
i can post the changes on the french forum. ( ofcourse i can't speak in french.. but somebody will understand me )

ok i'll send you.
but i send the "changes" to all translators, when version is finish.. because is the best way i have to know what is new to all languages.

>but I need the 0.9 one so I can begin on good basics
i can send you the file if you want.. but the file is the same as you have in your installed version.
see at TUXGUITAR_HOME/share/lang/messages_fr.properties

if you have ubuntu package, that file is at:
/usr/share/TuxGuitar-0.9.1-ubuntu-7.04-1/lang/

ok.

>it's good to see that I can directly change the language, I tought it was inserted in compilation
yep, languages are dynamically loaded from that folder..
tuxguitar read all messages_*.properties, and add them as languages.
you can test make a file: "messages_blabla.properties"
and you will see "blabla" as a new language option.

don't worry for the "at".. i see good it on the received mail.

The version is under development yet,
you can get the sources from CVS, or wait a little time to the final release

Julian: I have CVS version (a few days or maybe weeks ago), but there's still some gp5 files I cannot open, is that a known issue?

piotr:
i downloaded and tested the file you paste as examplel, and it works fine under CVS version.
GP* file format has very better support than 0.9.1 version.

Auria:
no is not a known issue.. can you send me a link of any of that files??

good job, thanks :)

(slightly off-ropic PS: do you ever plan on switching to SVN? CVS is just so much more painful to use)

yes but it don't have a full compatibility.
TuxGuitar has only one verse peer track, but GuitarPro has 5,
so tuxguitar take the first verse as a lyric, and the other verses will be ignored
