When I start the latest version on Debian testing, I ll get this message: An error ocurred when trying to set plugin status
what can be wrong?

uh it's a jar file isn't it? Can't run it in the terminal...

No, the .jar file is loaded by a script file.
What OS and tuxguitar release do you have installed ?
