I've gotten used to clicking the "tie" button when the cursor/entry square is on a string with no note underneath. It usually (and correctly) creates a tie to the previous note on that string.
But I've found a case where the tie is created to a DIFFERENT note, I'm not sure why or where it is coming from.
It's easy to reproduce. Use the following eight notes (standard tuning, just the D/G strings)
G: 5 - - 5 - - 5 - | - 5 - -
D: - 0 0 - 0 0 - 0 | 0 - 0 0
Now, on the G string line, each place I've put a dash, move the cursor there and click the tie button (from left to right). The first measure does the expected thing. But the first dash in the second measure shows as "G" instead of "C". I bet the tie is assuming the string is open for some reason.
yes you are right..
i fixed it now.. thanks for report.
fixing this bug, i found another little bug with tieds..
on your example.. i asumme all " - " on G string are tied notes..
now i paste a similar example ( "T" = tied note, "-" = nothing )
G: 5 - T 5 - T 5 - | T 5 - T
D: - 0 0 - 0 0 - 0 | 0 - 0 0
This didn't give the same durations as.
G: 5 T T 5 T T 5 T | T 5 T T
D: - 0 0 - 0 0 - 0 | 0 - 0 0
