Hi,
I have Windows xp home, and jre Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_06-b05),

When running the TuxGuitar I get "Error in Java Launcher. Error occured while calling main method in Java class org/herac/tuxguitar/gui/TuxGuitar"

(I downloaded the windows version of course)

Hi.. the .exe file don't show the error message.
please run TuxGuitar in command line and post here the correct exception..
to run in console you need go to "start menu -> excecute" and type "cmd" (it will open a windows console)
Go to the TuxGuitar folder:
cd "C:put correct pathTuxGuitar"
and type:
java -cp TuxGuitar.jar;libswt.jar;libitext-1.4.2.jar;share -Djava.library.path=lib org.herac.tuxguitar.gui.TuxGuitar

know you can see the correct exception.. please post here.. and i see the problem.

Bye

Yes.. there is a bug of 0.7 version of TuxGuitar.. it will be fixed for next version..
the problem is because TuxGuitar try to use your default system Language.. but it don't exists on TUXGUITAR_PATH/share/lang
to fixed this problem now.. you can copy messages_en.properties
to your language locale ...
messages_[locale].properties
(in your case messages_ko.properties)

Bye.. thanks for this post...

Thanks a bundle. Your tip worked, and the program opened.
I managed to open the program, but now when I open a gp3 or gp4 for example, when I play it I hear no sound.

The speakers work because I hear other things on my computer.

What do you think is the problem?

Thanks,
Ziko

you run Tuxguitar in console.. do you see any java exception ??
if there is no exception check if this file exists in yous jdk installation folder:
"C:WHERE IS JAVAjrelibaudiosoundbank.gm"

if it doesn' exist, download this file from:
http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/sound/soundbanks.html
and paste in jre/lib/audio as "soundbank.gm"

Bye.

Yes, is the same bug. your need a file called
messages_pt.properties in TuxGuitar_Folder/share/lang
you can copy the messages_en.properties as messages_pt.properties
or download it from: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=155855
Bye.

I have a question: when I download program and try to install it it says: The installer could not find a valid Java(tm) Runtime Environment in this machine.

I have XP, but otherwise I don't have much clue about computers :-))

Could someone help me, please!!

This is a system error.
What version of Windows are you using? I'm reading at the moment that this can happen on Win98 and lesser.

Millenium edition

Well, that's Windows' limit of resource file or something like that. Some other vesion ov Java might work, but I can tell you that much of that code is re-written in version 1.0, so you have a reason to hope that new version will work.

Or, maybe the best solution, switch either to Win98 or WinXP. :D

I don't see any exception text. All that happens is that the program loads. That's it. What should I do?

Thanks,

Hello there.

When i run TuxGuitar at first it's all fine, but then all of sudden it just plain...disappears from the screen.

It doesn't freeze, it just "goes away" suddendly.
I am a Windows XP user, do you have any idea about what the problem might be?

Thanks in advance!

It can be many things, and TuxGuitar is last on the list. :)

Try both versions, Excelsior Jet (native) and the one wich requires Java Runtime.
