when i'm tabbing out sheet music i can't tell where the heck the notes are actually going to go when i click in the score. if there was a note head that showed up under the mouse when in the score that would be wonderful. at this point it's kind of a guessing game as to whether it's going to put it on the line or in the space and it's extremely slow.

Definitely. Sibelius has this feature, and if TuxGuitar had it, it would be able to compete (with the entry level Sibelius program, at least).
