Hello,
I am a beginner guitarist and tempo I am not really focusing on playing with the right tempo for now.
What I would really enjoy with TuxGuitar would be a mode in which the next note you have to play is highlighted. And with a plugged in microphone, TuxGuitar would "hear" when you actually play it and highlight the next one (and scroll down if necessary).
For a beginner who is always looking at his fingers, and then looking back to the screen, it would be easier to know exactly where I am in the tablature.
